There is something about Mondays that just drive me absolutely crazy. I usually wake up early-not just a few minutes early, but way too early. I seem to have a million things running through my head, like what I need to do in the upcoming week or things that I maybe forgot to do the week before. The phrase “someone’s got a case of the Mondays” usually comes to people’s minds but in my case, I fucking love Mondays. Yes you read that correctly: I LOVE MONDAYS.

People usually think it’s a joke or that I’m being sarcastic, but in all seriousness I love Mondays. Work usually flies by due to people gearing up for the week and getting everything planned. This makes for a fast day and for the most part a very rewarding one. Don’t get me wrong: I have bad days just like anyone else.  The difference is I simply tend to try and never let that ruin a week. I like to look at it as if I am one of my kids. They wake up every single day with the same thought: “I am hungry and what kind of fun are we going to have today”.

It’s amazing and ultimately very simple if you think about it. If you were to wake up everyday and have no judgment of the previous 24 hours it could truly allow you to make the most of every single day. Now when I talk to customers and I mention how I love Mondays, I always get told “you’re” crazy, why would you like Mondays?” My answer is always the same, and this really only applies if you look at your week as a Monday to Friday, looking forward to the weekend kind of person. You have 1 day where you get to set the tone for the 6 days remaining for the week, you can either be miserable all day or make the absolute best of it and only expect good things to follow.

If my kids have taught me anything it’s that every day is a fresh start no matter what happened the day before, (and that crayons are basically superglue when used on walls), Crayons basiclly leave you free artwork all over your house by the famous Picasso Jr. The older my kids get, the more appreciative I am to have them in my life for these amazing lessons they are teaching me without even knowing it.

I want to challenge you all to wake up tomorrow and say these two things: 1) I’m hungry and 2) what kind of amazing things are we going to do today? It doesn’t have to be something crazy everyday but make the most of what you have and strive to excel at whatever it is you guys and girls do. Be the difference in someone else’s shitty day, set goals for yourself and help someone accomplish theirs. This life of ours is only as good as we allow ourselves to believe it is. So let’s get out there and be the difference in our lives we have always needed.
